Being a blogger means learning how to balance your life and your blog. After all, you created your blog to help you build the life you want, not take it over! It’s time to embrace balance and holistically balance your blog + life. If you holistically balance your blog + life, you can enjoy both aspects of your life, and be more successful and fulfilled in them both.
1 | Set a Schedule (and stay with it! )
A schedule is your best friend. It will keep you accountable and help you ensure there is time in the day for all of your obligations and tasks. It will help guide you and give you the tools you need to start to get organized. The important thing is to treat each task as important. If you want to make more time in your life to work on your blog, then you need to make room for it in your schedule. Treat working on your blog as you would any other obligation or appointment.

3 | Take a Break
You are allowed to rest. You are allowed to take breaks. Your blog can manage without you for a time! Do not fall into the trap of thinking it can’t! All bloggers need a break from their blogs every now and then, so take time off. Unplug completely. Enjoy a vacation, time with your family, or just time away from your blog pursuing other hobbies. I promise, your blog will survive and when you return, you’ll feel all the more motivated and be more productive.
4 | Get Help
There comes a time in every blogger’s career when they realize they can’t go it alone any more. Tell me, what would you do if you could afford to outsource a task? What would be the first to go, and what would you do with that now free time? If it was me, it would be project management, or maybe social media management. I’d spend all day coding if I could! I know that’s not your idea of a good time, but that’s the perfect reason why outsourcing is such a good idea! You can focus more on what you love about blogging, and know t hat the task you are outsourcing is in the hands of a professional who is passionate and more skilled in that area.
5 | Take Care of Yourself
Your blog and family are important, but your own well being doesn’t need to suffer! Take care of yourself mind, body and soul. That means planning your workouts, yoga sessions, or other self-care activities in your schedule. It means making time for the activities that nourish you physically and emotionally. I schedule my workout into my day. I know every morning I start my day at the gym. I have my gym time blocked out and work, blogging, nothing else gets in thew ay of that. Think of it as a meeting with a very important client: yourself.
Blogging is stressful, it’s easy to fall into the trap of feeling like it’s taking over your life, but it doesn’t have to. With these 5 tips you can holistically balance your blog + life.
